Jason Derulo ”Undefeated”2012 started out rough for Jason Derulo when he suffered a serious neck injury while rehearsing for an upcoming tour – a tour he had to cancel as a result. But he did manage to release this stray “comeback” single just in time for summer driving. The song, which he introduced in a performance on American Idol is notable not just for being great fun, but also for the fact that unlike pretty much every other Jason Derulo song, it’s not built over the hook of some other famous oldie and at no point does he sing his own name. Instead, he crowd-sourced the songwriting, working snippets of fan-submitted lyrics into the song. It’s artistic evolution, baby!
