#92: “Celebrate” by Mika featuring Pharrell Williams

I hesitate to include that feature credit because Pharrell hardly earns it. On the first single from Mika’s third album The Origin of Love, the giddiness that marked some of his biggest hits (“Grace Kelly”, “We Are Golden”, and last year’s “Elle Me Dit”) is a little more subdued in favor of a cool neon groove. At first, this disappointed me a little, but I’ve come to love it (even if the lead-in to the chorus still reminds me of a certain Carly Rae Jepsen song.)
