Matchbox Twenty ”She’s So Mean”

Remember back in the 90s when we first heard Matchbox 20? You know, before they learned how to spell “twenty”? Remember what a drag their songs used to be, and how you couldn’t go anywhere – not the grocery store, not the gas station, not your friendly neighborhood Arby’s – without hearing a very constipated-sounding Rob Thomas singing “I wanna push you around – well I will, well I will”. Yeah that sucked. But this doesn’t. Somewhere along the line, these guys learned how to have a good time, and this song, from their first full length studio album in almost ten years, is the most fun I’ve ever had with them. (Best line: “She has a hard time coming when she can’t hit back.”)
