The nets have been buzzing for weeks about the collaboration between Beyonce and Lady GaGa. The video premiered at midnight on MTV, and…it’s…interesting, I guess. The video itself just seems to be an excuse for Beyonce to get all abstract on us…it doesn’t have a heck of a lot to do with the song. It’s pretty cool from a visual standpoint. GaGa doesn’t actually add a heck of a lot to the proceedings here, except make Beyonce look that much more physically attractive by comparison. I mean, I’ve admitted in a previous post that I think GaGa is talented, but DAMN she ugly!!! There’s a cute little chair dancing routine which mainly consists of writhing and crossing and uncrossing the legs (Janet did a much better chair dancing routine in the “Miss You Much” video) and there are parts where Beyonce appears as pinup Bettie Page and as…M.I.A.???
ConFUsing, I tell you.
I’d probably like the video a little more if the song didn’t suck. While “I Am…Sasha Fierce” has grown on me somewhat over time, it’s still not the world’s best album, and this song is not one of its’ better tracks.
