  • Those British Reality Shows Keep Spittin’ ’em Out

    OK, so everyone’s seen the video of Susan Boyle, the homely British lady with the voice of an angel, right?

    Well, “Britain’s Got Talent” keeps proving that talent can come from the most peculiar places, as 12 year old Shaheen Jafargholi exhibits a vocal talent beyond his age with his version of The Jackson 5/Smokey Robinson’s “Who’s Lovin’ You”. Now look, the kid’s got pipes. He’s obviously listened to his Mariah Carey and Leona Lewis records, as his vocal style seems to take more from those divas than it does any male artist.

    Am I impressed? Sorta. Actually, Michael’s version (which is now 40 years old) still beats the pants off of this. And I don’t say that just because I’m a Michael Jackson nut. The J5’s version is simply sung better, and that’s all there is to it. This clip is also ripe for comedy, from Simon Cowell discreetly giving the camera the old face-scratch with his middle finger to the comment on the YouTube clip that says the kid is gonna be a future pillow biter (sorry, folks, I’d be inclined to agree). Anyway, before you chew me out for making inappropriate jokes about a pre-teen, check out the clip as well as The Jackson 5’s version and YOU tell me which is better.

    In an update to what I posted last weekend, Mike’s main man Perez Hilton had a story on his site about the $9 million dollar thank you gift Simon Cowell gave his now ex-girlfriend Terri Seymour, who broke up with him because he didn’t want to get married. Everyone wants to be an American Idol. I want to be a Simon Cowell.

    Lionel Wants To Dance On The Ceiling Again
    E! Online says that Lionel Richie is working with Ne-Yo and Akon for a track on his new album that’s due out in February. While Lionel should probably act his age, his 2006 song I Call It Love featuring Taj Jackson was actually a pretty good song. Check out the video with daughter Nicole.

    Madonna Gets Justin And Britney To Share The Stage, Just Not Together
    This is another story from E! Online. Justin and Britney both were guest stars of Madonna’s on her tour which stopped at Dodger Stadium. Brit helped her out with Human Nature while JT was with her for 4 Minutes. But they weren’t on the stage together. Maybe next time.

    No To Jermaine But Yes To London?
    Billboard.com has this last bit about MJ possibly performing in London at the O2 Arena. Like I said last time, I’ll believe it when it comes out of MJ’s mouth.

    Thanks to E! Online for the story on Simon Cowell’s break-up with Terri Seymour. And before all the silly rumors start about Simon and Paula now being able to love each other, I think Simon starts dating anything that moves. Let’s face it, the guy is one of the more recognizable faces on television.

    Britney’s People Release The Track List For Her New Album
    MTV.com says that Britney’s next single is going to be Circus which is also the title of her album. I can’t wait to hear If You Seek Amy and Mmm Papi. Not really, but at least those titles are interesting.

    I have an update on two stories that I posted last week.

    Q says 112 is still together and it was news to him.

    We have been doing shows over the last year; as recent as last weekend!

    And finally, as I expected, Michael says no!. I have some advice for Jermaine. The next time you talk about the Jacksons getting back together, please talk to Mike first. He loves you, but he’s trying to do him.
