  • New Video: Rihanna & Justin Timberlake Go To Rehab

Well, you had to figure that a collaboration between the most ubiquitous male singer and female singer in pop music would have to happen sooner or later, right? Well, the video for Rehab, the amazing NINTH single from Rihanna’s Good Girl Gone Bad album, sends Rih-Rih and JT out into the desert, where they…um…pose sexily? I mean, there doesn’t really seem to be any actual plot to the video. Not to say it’s not enjoyable, especially since Rihanna’s now at an age where you can appreciate that body. The ugly-ass neck tattoo, though…not so much.

    Check out the video here.

  • The New Music Files 11/18/08:
    Beyonce, Nickelback, David Cook

There’s a handful of big-name records coming out today, but not a heck of a lot beyond that. Let’s take a look at what’s new and important in record stores and online today.

    Beyonce I Am…Sasha Fierce:
Dumb title, dumb concept. Decent album? Maybe? Mrs. Carter’s third album is split into two discs (although it could very easily fit onto one) in order to display the two sides of Beyonce’s personality. Save me the hocus-pocus and just give me good music, OK? I actually like Beyonce a lot (although not as much as our own GG, who has not wiped up the drool yet), and hope that the decidedly average B-Day was an aberration. If I Were a Boy gives me a little hope, but Single Ladies takes it right back. So, basically a crapshoot. But it’ll sell like hotcakes anyway.

  • New Springsteen: The Boss is “Workin’ on a Dream”

I don’t know about you guys, but I thought Magic was the best Springsteen album in quite some time. He and The E Street Band sounded completely energized, so with the official announcement that he is releasing a new album, I find myself excited about a new Bruce album for probably the first time in my life (I was a kid when Born in the U.S.A. and Tunnel of Love came out, so I appreciated those retroactively). The album is called Workin’ on a Dream, it’s being released on January 27th just in time for Bruce’s performance on the Super Bowl, and it will again be produced by Brendan O’ Brien, who helmed Magic. Here’s an acoustic performance of the title track. I like it…let us know what you think.
