I happened to be listening to Emeli Sande’s debut album Our Version of Events on headphones at my desk at work when I first read of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, and now I can’t hear this song without remembering how that news felt the first time I heard it: “We’re all wonderful wonderful people. So when did we all get so fearful?”
