The new album from MadnessMadness released their first singles at the height of the late 70s disco boom. More than 30 years later, this song from their newest album (affirmatively titled Oui Oui Si Si Ja Ja Da Da) is a closing of the loop. It’s a somber dance floor lament in the mold of ABBA’s “The Day Before You Came” – a narrative collection of every-day-life memory details stacked one upon the other as strings swell and swirl around Suggs’s deadpan delivery, heightening the sense of regret over one moment of youthful inaction. “Will I ever see you again?
